COVID-19 Update
As the rapid spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues in the global community, we at Conklyn & Kemp have developed a Coronavirus protocol that has been set in motion. We are in constant contact with the Maryland Judiciary and will keep you informed as to modifications to hearings/trials, and other previously scheduled (or necessary) appearances and deadlines. Commencing immediately, all meetings which do not need to be in person are being scheduled by phone, Skype or Facetime.
The Maryland Courts are currently closed to the public; however, the Courts are hearing certain types of emergency matters. The Courts are expected to reopen to the public on Monday, June 8, 2020. Please note that electronic filings are still being accepted in Frederick County and other counties that utilize the Maryland Electronic Courts ("MDEC") system. In addition, beginning Thursday April 23, 2020, the Frederick County Circuit Court will begin conducting hearings telephonically to resolve uncontested domestic matters.
The attorneys and staff have at Conklyn & Kemp have remote access to your files. Our highest priority is the well-being of our team, clients, and community. We continue to implement measures to reduce the risk of workplace transmission of the virus to ensure the health and safety of our entire community. Until further notice, the preferred method of communication is email.
