
Elizabeth A. Conklyn, Esquire
Elizabeth A. Conklyn, Esquire practiced law in Frederick County for more than 28 years and was the founder of Conklyn & Associates, the predecessor to Conklyn & Kemp, LLC. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Conklyn built a respected family law practice focused on providing thoughtful, compassionate, and effective representation to individuals and families facing challenging legal matters.
Before pursing a career in law, Ms. Conklyn earned a master's degree in social work from the University of Maryland and served for several years as the clinical director of mental health center. This unique combination of legal and clinical experience allowed her to bring a particularly thoughtful and compassionate perspective to the practice of family law. Ms. Conklyn earned her law degree from the University of Baltimore and subsequently served as judicial law clerk to the Chief Judge of the Maryland Court of Appeals, the Honorable Robert C. Murphy.
Following her judicial clerkship, Ms. Conklyn joined one of the largest law firms in Seattle, Washington, where she practiced for several years before returning to the East Coast. She subsequently established Conklyn & Associates and devoted her practice to family law, drawing upon both her legal training and clinical background to assist clients through some of the most difficult and consequential periods of their lives.
Although Ms. Conklyn has retired from the practice of law, her years of dedicated service to the Frederick County community and the foundation she established through Conklyn & Associates remain an important part of the firm's history.
